The Scally, Evans, Lovell and NH saga eventually got us relegated. With so much upheavel going on in the background. It would have been difficult to get real focus into the wafer thin squad of players. Kelman was sent back by Evans to QPR for reasons fully justified. He was not up to the required standard even though he showed a few glimpses of his potential. Scally said Dempsey left us not just because Bolton are a bigger club than us, but our chairman said certain people had to go because the atmosphere in the dressing was tense. Bring in Paul MacCullum from Dagenham and Redbridge to play with Kashket. Surely, the budget can accommodate him. Kelman wasn’t up to the required standard, but Evans signed him and said he’d be brilliant. Same as Evans signed Dickson-Peters, Maghoma, Reeves, Adshead, Bennett, Carayol, Tutonda, Jackson & Ehmer, none of whom were up to standard. That’s before you look back at seasons before with Akinde, loads of loanees etc who were all going to be great before being discarded

Evans wasted his budget offering huge wages to the likes of Akinde (186k a year). Apparently even Ehmer and Tutonda are on sizeable wages of around 2k a week, good money for defenders who were released from a club that had been relegated the season before. Evans got us relegated, not Lovell, not Kelman, Evans. He wasted his budget on a squad of injury prone players, and then bullied the rest of them until the completely stopped playing for him. Yes…that is assumption.

At this point all I can hope for is not to be relegated. Good not hamstrung by the embargo so if get into trouble with injuries hopefully PS puts in enough pennies to field a full team and subs bench throughout the season.
Going to need to find a few gold nuggets in the remaining signings or more likely loanees for anything better than mid table.
Would be very nice to see at least 23 goals at home this season and not 13 of last season ☹️

The odds certainly represent where the squad building is to date. Still time, but we need a lot of players. I reckon minimum is a right back (really 2), another centre back, 2 wingers and another striker, ideally 2

Mid-table would be acceptable in most fans opinion.
Remember, we are a club in decline with a budget to match which reflects this, the core of the club is rotten and until that changes harbouring any thoughts of success on the field is restricted by the BS chairman.
Scally is strangling the club and all those shallow directors on that infamous utube Chairman's Chat (Shrewsbury pre-match) should have the arses whipped.
The hierarchy at the club is toxic and it has filtered through the veins of the club indefinitely.
NH is the only positive thing going for the club and he will not be here for more than 1 season.

When your manager talks about other rival teams outspending us and that does not include the National League.
You can sense BH's frustration in the transfer market and any ambitious person taking the job at our club will be restricted by a mediocre playing budget.
He may fancy 10 players but can only realisitic look at 2 or 3 of them.
Evans was working under these poor conditions in his last year and you just sense that NH is already getting worked up about bringing in the players he really wants.

Grimsby Town have sold over 5000 Season Tickets.
Now, that is what you call progress.
I think we have sold under 2,000.
