I sat in the medway stand and took my seat. I look up and lingazi and kedwell and knew straight away that we were carrying 2 passengers. How can lingazi play after the way he performed v colchester and kedwell is awful s usual now. 2 players heading for the exit door and Taylor plays these poor performers. We needed legge to play today because his height would have caused bristol problems. But he stuck with lennon who is young but not going to deal with bristol quality. Only cody and Nelson would be on par with bristol players the rest perform without any substance and Taylors excuses usual rubbish and going on about belief this time.
Wake up taylor have you realised that nobody thinks you are any good as a manager.
They don't want to play for you and your signings in general have been poor.

I get that you had a long journey (me too actually, but not quite as long) and have the hump because of the result, but I honestly think you must have been at a different game to me. I enjoyed it. It was worth the trip. Yes, their players were better than ours. That can't have come as a surprise, but I thought our young and developing side did well all things considered. City had 22 points this time last year....

Swanley... I think you better get a life yourself. Bristol were on a different planet to us and defeat shows us how poor we are as a unit and depth of our squad is that of a bottom six side unfortunately.

The warning signs were there right from the start of the match. Freeman was pulling the strings for them with Thomas and ayling complimenting him and we were dominated to such a extent that I couldn't wait to see us hold out till half time.
I just hope the January signing prove to be up to the required standard to stay up because the current crop are lacking the necessary belief.

They are top of the league, have a huge budget and excellent squad they should be better than us. It's the same as comparing Chelsea to Leicester etc.

Is that really, i mean really your best comeback, mr negative EVERY post, even after a win (colchester) I don't care if we are the 5th or 6th worst team this season, it means we will stay up, and muppet is spot on with his comments, enough said.

Though the youngsters of Gills played to their abilities, did not disgrace themselves although out gunned by a superior City side. Two or three golden opportunities being missed by both sides and once again not helped by the standard of refereeing. Enjoyed the afternoon if not the result, but still consider it within our ability to avoid the drop, time will tell. Sorry some had a long trek only to confirm what they keep telling us they already knew, but never mind the club will benefit from their revenue if nothing else.

I think that possibly what might save us from relegation is the fact that the table doesn't lie, and there are a few teams worse than us. A couple of experienced signings are a must in January and please let one of them be a striker. Now is not the time to be experimenting with kids. The only downside with avoiding relegation is that Taylor will still be manager next season and those fans that will still be going will have to put up with it all again

Muppet is spot on with what he said. Yesterday wasn't the day to criticise a manager who did change things round at half time when it wasn't working and took a bold step of subbing his under performing captain. Again, it was the experienced players who let the manager down. It's also worth remembering when Taylor's signings are criticised as the root cause, it's other managers players who are the problem. Martin and Keds were Hess's players, Linganzi was Allen's. Cody is the only non PT signing who was decent yesterday. On the other hand, the 3 centre backs did ok, Pritchard was good, Dickenson did well when he came on, Doughty was outstanding yet again. The cause of our problems doesn't lie with PT and the sooner he can offload some of the lads he inherited and bring more talented players in, the better. If we do go down, swansgills, feel free to say I told you so, but I have no doubt that we won't.

I can't understand why everyone is against swansgills comments! I go to most games home and away and I agree with everything he says! We were lucky to win the game at Colchester. We were outplayed against Bristol City all over the park. It's ok everyone saying we expected to lose because of their budget but what is the excuse for being outplayed by teams we should be easily competing against! People on here seem to pussy foot around the fact that we are a poor team and get outplayed most weeks! Poor manager poor players. Going to be very lucky to stay up!

Thanks robboblue....I love gillingham football club.. I would travel the the whole of the UK to watch the gills if I could. At the end of the day we all have one common goal and that is the interest and progression of our club, it's in our blood forever and we just want to be riding high like mk dons and Bristol City. I want Taylor to prove me wrong bit I am being totally honest with you all that I have not seen enough from him to think, hey, this guy making progress with us. I dont think i seen us perform to a level which leaves me thinking after a game we could perform consistently to a acceptable standard which could only mean progression.
Let's all see in the new year together and hope our fortunes turn for the better .
Take care all

Hi robbo, it is fine you agreeing with swansgills888, your prerogative,I think what most of us object to is the continual redressing and representing of the same old groans time after time. As for luck at Colchester think football carries an element of luck, and therefore there are many times when "luck" plays its part either way. yes Bristol out played, out gunned, out thought us,but not because of their budget, they are the in form team. Someone has already pointed out on this forum that at the stage last season equating to prior to yesterdays game BC had 22 points, 3 less than us. If they can turn around one season later,so can we.Whilst we are not in a league position to be enjoyed, there are still teams below us up to 5 points behind, but the top half of the league is only 5 points above us, 5 teams "11th to 15th" being separated by one point,so feel that all is not lost there is still a lot to play for and along way to go but nothing to say we can not do it. There are at least 4 below us who would rather be where we are, wonder if their manager gets the same degree of excrement that ours does. COYG

I rarely get to gills games but avidly follow the superb Wall coverage. Getting rid of Taylor is an easy option, but as we've seen in the past gets us nowhere. It seems to me that our defence sees good or at least adequate but up front we never have a settled lineup and players never get the chance to gel. I think we have not adequately replaced Lee Whelpdale and Bayo and I'm sure it was down to contracts etc but Cody particularly is missing a partner , when he plays
